You can use the DimLinear command to create vertical, horizontal, or rotated dimensions.


How to Create a Linear Dimension:

  1. Click on Dimension > Linear on the Ribbon.

  1. Enter DIMLINEAR in the command window.
  2. Specify the position of the first extension line in the graphics area.
  3. Specify the position of the second extension line in the graphics area.
  4. Specify the position of the dimension line in the graphics area.
    or
    In the Command window, enter one of the following options:
    Horizontal: Creates a horizontal dimension. The dimension line is parallel to the X axis. 
    The horizontal distance between the two specified points is measured.
    Vertical: Creates a vertical dimension. The dimension line is parallel to the Y axis.
    The vertical distance between the two specified points is measured.
    Rotated: Creates a rotated dimension. The dimension line has the specified angle.
    The distance between the two specified points is measured along the defined angle (parallel to the dimension line).
