Creating a Viewport
Layout viewports show views of model space. You can create multiple layout viewports on a layout. You determine the size, position and scaling of the viewports according to your needs.
The Lock View option prevents the scale from being changed unintentionally.
How to Create a Rectangular Viewport:
- Enter VIEWPORT in the command window.
- Enter the first corner of the window in the graphics area.
- Specify the opposite point of the window in the graphics area.
This is how you create a viewport that covers the entire printable area:
- Enter VIEWPORT in the command window.
- Enter Fit in the command window.
How to create two, three, or four viewports:
- Enter VIEWPORT in the command window.
- Enter 2, 3, or 4 in the command window.
- Enter an option for the arrangement (e.g. Horizontal) in the command window.
- Enter the first corner of the window in the graphics area.
- Specify the opposite point of the window in the graphics area.

- Enter Fit in the command window.
To Create a Polygonal Bounded Viewport
- Enter VIEWPORT in the command window.
- Enter Polygonal in the command window.
- Specify the first point of the polyline in the graphics area.
- Specify further points in the graphics area.
- Enter Close in the Command window to close the contour train.
How to Lock a Viewport:
- Enter VIEWPORT in the command window.
- Enter Lock in the command window.
- Enter the On or Off option in the Command window.
- In the graphics area, select the viewport for which the setting should apply.
